What Is WAYWARD SON?
In 1942, the United States Military formed Special Weapons, Operations, Research, and Development (S.W.O.R.D.) to create super-soldiers that would "bring conflicts to a quick, decisive, and victorious end, with minimal casualties, and no loss of innocent life." Dubbed "The Elite Project", it would take nearly three-quarters of a century to achieve those lofty goals.
But now, one of those posthuman soldiers has escaped into the wild with only one thought on his mind -- vengeance.
A crimelord wlll oppose him. A superhuman killer will hunt him. A lost love will save him from self-destruction. And he will learn the most important lesson of all --
-- You can't find justice. You have to make it.
WAYWARD SON tells the story of Jacob Sinclaire -- codenamed "Raptor" -- an experimental super-soldier who escapes the military to avenge a murder. Once free, he uses his superhuman abilities and special weapons to seek out the killers, while at war with his estranged father's criminal empire, and hunted by the superhuman commander of his former unit.
Wayward Son is adapted from the screenplay by Blair D. Shedd, graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Art and Graphic Design. The screenplay itself was on two separate occasions a Quarterfinalist and Semifinalist in the prestigious Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The comic book itself will be a limited series, written and illustrated by Blair D. Shedd, and published quarterly by oneGemini Studios.
